For Immediate Release

En Vero wishes to confirm that a request for assistance has been made by Mexican Human Rights activist Eduardo Gallo. Although the primary focus of cases En Vero usually investigates involve those who have already been arrested or imprisoned, the organization also focuses its attention on cases where disproving possible false allegations could lead to avoiding unfounded charges coming to light. As of now, there has been no determination if this situation fits this case.

Mr. Gallo’s request will be treated with the same rigor and professionalism as all other requests for assistance our organization receives. The case will undergo the requisite strict review process. At the conclusion of which, a determination will be issued on the merit of the allegations made.

Considering the source of some of these allegations, this statement is to make clear that any real or perceived ties between the President of En Vero, David Bertet, with Mr. Gallo will not impact the impartiality of the investigation at all. Mr. Bertet will not participate in any aspect of the review process of M. Gallo’s request.

We understand that another source of accusations against Eduardo Gallo is being investigated and defended by another Human Rights organization with a connection to En Vero. As we deeply respect and rely on their cooperation in a number of cases, we wish to express our confidence in the process they undertake for their own independent efforts. In every case handled by En Vero, our objectives remain focused on seeking truth and justice for the wrongfully accused and imprisoned.
